2011 Three Rivers Fall Color Tour

This year the Three Rivers Fall Color Tour (October16, 2011)  had a windy, cloudy backdrop, but that didn’t stop hundreds from coming out to the fourteen different sites to participate in activities, pick out pumpkins and enjoy a hayride.

Some of the sites included in this year’s event were Meyer Broadway Park with the Scarecrow Contest, live music, arts & craft booths, pumpkin patch, children’s games.  Swiss Valley Ski & Snowboard Area hosted a car show.  Riverbend Farm Antiques held an antique sale and Civil War display.  Corey Lake Orchards provided samples of the farm’s produce and cider, a tour of their Brandy House and a live ‘Bird of Prey’ exhibit.  Airplane rides were available, for a price, to view the fall colors from the air.

The annual event has drawn as many as 3,000 people in the past, but the threat of rain kept the numbers down this year.  The day finished off with moderate temps and a partly sunny sky.  Make sure not to miss this great family event next October.  Brochures and information will be available at the Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce, 269-278-8193.
