The popularity of our national parks is evident, both in Michigan and throughout the nation. More than 2.5 million visitors enjoyed the seven national park sites in our state last year, helping generate an estimated $231 million in local communities. This visitor spending supported 3,410 jobs and helps fuel small businesses and communities that depend on tourism for their local economy.
